Braddon Read-Along Update: September

This month in the Braddon read-along, we finally discover Aurora Floyd’s secret! Spoilers follow the jump, so please stop reading if you’d rather not know what happened in this installment.

Chapter XXV summary: James Conyers is dead. Mellish Park is in frenzy in the aftermath. Although the general understanding is that this was a murder, little is done to investigate.

Chapter XXVI summary: A detective arrives to investigate. The townspeople share theories over beer. Most point to Aurora as the murderess.

Chapter XXVII summary: The murder remains unsolved, but Aurora’s dreadful secret has finally come to light. She was married to James Conyers! Mellish finds out. Aurora flees.
